Flatplans

These are my flat plans for my movie poster and my film magazine.

This is my film posters flat plans, it is a rough idea of what i want my film poster to look like. The first thing you notice when you look at the poster is the centred image of the cloaked figure, you notice his blank face around his hood as this stands out to the audience, the path is leading up to the figure so this makes the reader concentrate on the figure. Also the red pool of blood that the figure is stood in stands out as his weapon is glistening red. This element shows the danger of the character.

The surrounding trees show that the figure is in some sort of wood and is in the middle, trees are seen above and to the left and right of the figure showing that he is surrounded and is trapped. The red and brown in the trees represent that the season is autumn so this also helps with the darkness element.

The films name will be in a large red font at the top of the screen, with the font in a style that could be represented as blood dripping downwards as this will help show the films genre and build up the figure. The slogan for the film will be catchy and show its horror genre, this will be located just below the hooded figure to show that it is about him.

At the bottom of the screen is where all the actors names will be, this will also be where the production logos will go and the names of the companies involved within the making of the product. Also the films website will be in the centre of this area and will be advertising the website in order to gain some traffic to the website.

This is the flat plans for my film magazines front cover.

The very first thing you notice when you look at the magazine cover is the centred background image of the star, this stands out as the colour around the star makes the whiteness stand out against the surrounding colour. Once you are looking at the star your eyes notice the knife in the middle of the page and your eyes move down the knife and notice the blood on the weapon and the sinister blood pool dripping of the knife, this builds up a strong genre of horror within the front cover. Your eyes then travel back up the blade and look at the handle with the hand holding the weapon, you can see blood on the assailants hand and you automatically think he has murdered somebody.

The star is a demonic star, which intrigues the reader as they think the picture has a deeper and darker feel than first thought. There is also a few markings around the star and the audience may think that the person holding the knife may have carved the star himself since he is holding a knife.

The masthead is at the top of the page in a large bold text, this stands out against the white simple background, the style of text puts the concentration and main focus onto the first letter of the masthead. Just above the masthead is a small piece of text which reads "The UK's most popular monthly magazine", this adds a bit of credibility to the magazine. Just under the last letter of the masthead is a small piece of text outlining which issue the magazine is.

The main sell and strap lines are located under the knife on the right hand side, this is too show the main focus of the magazine is of the featured image, however there is a large area at the bottom right for other major sell lines, i aim to reduce the white unused space by packing it will sell lines that will entice the target audience and make them purchase my magazine.
